Try a sketch on Tuesday.

I'm finishing off my kit with a card for Try a sketch on Tuesday

I've used a floral paper that came free in a magazine. It is double sided so I cut the circle from the opposite side.

I used a general sentiment "HI" and a button bow I had in my stash.

Lasting Memories sketch

Here's the next sketch at Lasting Memories  for a single photo layout.

Using a border punch I decorated edges top and bottom. I used strips of blu plis scraps of cream behind the photo. There were 2 branches in my kit that looked a bit like the bubble seaweed so I used those plus the pink bracket and title. I did hand journalling.

Farmquest

The new challenge at Farmquest is baby animals.

I have been replenishing my Easter cards as I sold a few just before Easter.

On this card I used a Jolee boutique baby lamb in a sparkly frame that was in my Counterfeit kit. I then added a tiny chipboard baby bird, which I coloured with liquid pearls.

Just because layouts.

Yesterday I made 2 more layouts.

Both are "just because" layouts and not for any challenges. I'm ploughing through my Counterfeit Kit.

In both cases I used lots of scraps. After all isn't that what scrapbooking is about?

My time to craft and Shopping our stash.

In my Counterfeit kit I put a sheet of vellum featuring baby boy words such as adorable, bundle of joy, little miracle etc.

Today I made 3 long cards using that vellum. I also had some tiny butterflies so used them as embellishments.

I'm entering them at My time to craft. The challenge is butterflies or dragonflies.

            ************************************************************************

I had a small piece of vellum left so used it on this card for a bridal shower. The sentiment on the vellum says MIRACLE. I also added a blue bow button plus a tag I made.

I'm entering it at Shopping our stash. Obviously, this card would be for a boy baby.

Challenge #1 Finding bliss

Our first challenge this month is to find BLISS in an ordinary moment.

I looked through my recent photos and found a photo of a garden nearby to my home. I visited it with a friend where we had lunch then sat and enjoyed the solitude. It is a beautiful spot.

and some close ups

The flower on here was cut from a birthday card.

I used a border punch on my strip and added a Graphic 45 fairy.

I managed to use a domed flair that said wild and free.

Nature provides bliss in stressful situations also. I often go for walks near water or pretty gardens to relax.

While we are on gardens and nature, I made this second layout.

When I was on holiday in Forster we saw this beautiful frangipani tree with pink and yellow flowers.

It was ideal for using up a few scraps plus the packet of leaves I had left.

I layered the leaves on the 2 corners until I was happy with how they look. In another packet of diecuts I found a pink and yellow flower. The little B You tiful tag made a good title. The cream strip plus the pink with leaves made for the perfect trim across the bottom.

Challenge Yourself

At Challenge YOUrself they want an animal photo with ourselves in it.

I've always loved cats and,in this case, lions. They are majestic creatures and have a no nonsense approach to life. We were visiting Canberra Zoo and came across these 2 lions sleeping on a table like platform. We took a photo and just afterwards the male woke up and stood. (Always the way if you're taking photographs of animals!).

I've scrapped the photos anyway to remember our visit. I put my title in a circle with scalloped edges.

I added some flowers and a doiley to soften the layout and match the opposite circle. There's also a giant tortoise on there that I got to stand beside. Of course I didn't do that with the lions!!
